Rough diamond ring
Description:
The shape of the vines move organically around the finger, complimented by leaves sprouting off in varying directions with no two angles of the ring a like. A darker tone rough diamond holds the center point of the ring. Since it is an uncut stone beautiful organic lines may show through. Metal hugs the sides of the stone, securing it in its bezel setting. As just a small detail highlight a round brilliant cut diamond is flush set into one of the four leaves.
Inspiration:
Often artist Elizabeth R. Griggs draws inspiration from her environment. Her designing talents are most stimulated when traveling with all the new sites and sounds, however this rings inspiration is draw from close to home: The Joynt, a popular drinking establishment in Eau Claire where folks go to enjoy beer, peanuts, and good conversation, features a flower box sprouting vines outside their front windows. The vines grow up and up, covering the frames of the windows. While visiting the Joynt one fall evening, Elizabeth became engrossed by the brown willowy vines being almost silhouetted with the bright street light behind it. This visual was all she needed to take off running with her series Twining Vines, with this piece being number one.
